Pressure cook beef with Turmeric powder, black pepper powder, sliced onions( 1 ) ,ginger garlic paste and salt for 3 whistles.
Dry roast freshly grated coconut,shallots,cinnamon stick,fennel seeds and black peppercorns till they turn brown.
Grind this into fine paste by adding water.
Heat oil in a pan,add sliced onions,curry leaves, green chillies and salt and saute till onions starts to brown.
Add crushed ginger garlic and saute till the raw smell goes off.
Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder, coriander powder,garam masala powder and mix well.
Add ground paste and beef roast masala and cook till oil starts appearing,stirring intermittently.
Add cooked beef and chopped yam to the gravy and mix well. Cover and cook for 15 mins on low flame.
Add sliced Coconut pieces and cook for another 5 mins.
When the gravy becomes thick, add finely chopped coriander leaves and mix.
Switch off the flame and keep it covered for atleast 1 hour before serving.
