Dry roast onion, poppy seeds, coconut, coriander powder and grind it to smooth paste by adding some water. keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
Add some chopped onion and ginger garlic paste. When it turns brown add seasoning.
Stuff the onion paste in the brinjal and add it into the pan . Add remaining paste into it.
Add some salt and tamarind pulp with jaggary. Cover it with lid and cook until brinjal are tender.
Add some water , cumin powder , kohlapuri masala and fresh coriander. Cover for a minute and serve hot.
