Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 750 gms Mutton (clean & washed) 2 tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste 1 tbsp-salt, haldi, dhaniya ,garam masala pwdr


  • for dal mixture: 1/2 cup broken wheat 1 cup Rice 500 gms Mix daal packet or 100 gms of each-(tuvar,chana,masoor,urad,moong)


  • For tadka- 5-6 tbsp oil 2-3 green chillies chopped finely 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste 5-6 garlic cloves chopped 2 tbsp - salt, haldi, dhaniya ,garam masala ,red chilli pwdr 2-3 bay leafs 2 tspn zeera


  • For garnish: 5-6 onions sliced & deep fried, 1 cup mint-coriander leaves chopped, lemon wedges,2 tbsp pure ghee

Directions

  • Wash the mix dal, rice & broken wheat separately. Soak them in different containers for atleast 8-10 hours or overnight.
  • In a pressure cooker add the mutton pieces with 2 tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste 1 tbsp-salt, haldi, dhaniya ,garam masala pwdr . Add 1 cup water . mix well & cook till 7-8 whistles or until tender.
  • Now discard water from the dal .add the mix daal in a pressure cooker with 3 cups water,salt & haldi pwdr(1 tspn both) . Cook for 3-4 whisltes or until done.. dnt overcook as we need grainy texture.
  • Now discard water from rice & add in pressure cooker with 1 tbsp salt & cook for 3-4 whistles or until done. Now for the broken wheat dalia add the wheat with 5-6 cups of water in a vessel . Add 2 tbsp salt & haldi pwdr & cook on low flame until mixture is lumpy & wheat grain is super soft & done.
  • Finally transfer the broken wheat dalia,cooked dal & rice in a big vessel & mix throughly . Add the cooked mutton & mix well again. Cover n keep aside .
  • Now for tadka - heat oil in a kadhai . Add zeera & bay leaves . Let it crackle. Add chopped garlic & green chillies & cook for few seconds. Add ginger garlic paste & cook again for few seconds . Add dry masalas & cook for few seconds. Add 1/2 cup water so dat masala dsnt burn . Turn off flame & add the tadka to the dal-mutton mixture. Mix throughly.
  • Transfer In a serving bowl a. Sprinkle fried onions, mint coriander leaves with a dash of squeezed lime & ghee . Serve hot !!
