dry roast Rava for 3 to 4 minutes and keep aside
don't over roasr the Rava don't let its colour change
heat oil in a pan
add mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal and let them splutter
now add dried Red Chillies and Saute for a minute
add few curry leaves and saute for a minute
add grated ginger and green chillies and saute
now add sliced onion and saute till it is translucent
now add chopped tomatoes and grated carrot and saute for a minute
add cashew nuts and salt, mix nicely, cover and let it cool for 2 minutes.
open the lid and add fresh coriander leaves and mix.
now add water and cover the pan to give water a boil
when the water starts boiling simmer the heat and add the Rava and keep on stirring so that there are no lumps
Rava will Soak all The Water and will leave the sides of the pan
add juice of one lemon and mix nicely and let it cook for another 1 minute covered.
Rava Upma is ready garnish it with some coriander leaves and serve hot with Ginger chutney or coconut chutney
