Ingredients

  • for iddiyappam


  • 1 cup rice flour


  • 1 1/4 cup water


  • 1 tsp oil,salt to taste


  • For tometo kurma 2 serving


  • Onion 2

  • Sambhar masala 1 tsp


  • Turmeric 1/8 tsp


  • Grated coconut 1/4 cup


  • Green chillies 5


  • Fennel 1/2 tsp


  • Fried gram dal 1 tbsp


  • Oil 1 tbsp


  • Cinnamon 1 inch piece


  • Cloves 2

Directions

  • Firstly in a kadai take 1 1/4 cup of water.also add salt and oil.
  • Stir well and get water to boil further simmer the flame,and add roasted rice flour.
  • Mix continuously till the dough is formed.
  • Now turn off the flame ,cover and rest for 5 minutes.
  • Furthermore with wet hands knead and combine together.
  • Be careful as the dough is going to be very hot.
  • Now take noodle mould and fix to the chakli maker.
  • Grease the chakli maker with some oil.this prevents dough from sticking to mould.
  • Now make a cylindrical shape out of dough and place the dough inside maker.
  • Keep covered the rest dough else they will turn hard.
  • Tighten the lid and start preparing idiyappam.
  • On the greased idli plate pressin circular motion.
  • Further steam it for 10 minutes.
  • Finally serve iddiyappam with tomato kurma.
  • Now we will make tometo kurma.
  • First grind coconut,fried gram dal,green chillies,fennel with littel water.
  • First heat a kadai with oil.
  • Temper with cinnamon and cloves.
  • Add finelly chopped onion and fry till transparent.
  • Add finally chopped tomatoes and Little bite of salt.fry until it becomes soft.
  • Add sambhar powDer and turmeric.
  • Mix well and fry for 2 more minutes.
  • Add 1 & 1/2 cup water.add more salt if needed and bring to boil.
  • Add the ground paste and boil for 3-4 minutes.
  • Adjust water consistency if it is too thick.
  • tometo kurma is ready.
