  • 1 cups broken wheat

  • 3 cups sugar

  • 1 cups ghee

  • 1/4 cups chopped cashews

  • 4 cups water


  • Soak wheat rava in water for 6-8 hours. Grind to smooth puree
  • Strain puree and extract milk. Add water and extract as much milk possible
  • Set this milk aside for 3-4 hours. Discard top fluid.
  • Add 4 cups of water to remaining wheat milk and mix well
  • Add 2.5 cups sugar and 1/2 cup water in non stick pan. Cook until sugar caramelizes
  • Add wheat milk and caramelized sugar in non stick pan with remaining sugar and mix well
  • Cook until mixture thickens stirring constantly. Keep adding spoonful of ghee at a time. Mix well until it absorbs
  • Keep cooking until ghee seperates. It will take 45 minutes to 1 hour
  • Add chopped cashews and mix well
  • Serve halwa as is or transfer halwa to greased square dish lined up with butter paper. Spread halwa evenly. Sprinkle additional cashews almonds for taste on top
  • Cool for 3 hours until set. Slice and serve
