Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • 1.Chicken breast - 400 gram (cut in to pieces) - For cooking the chicken


  • 2.Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon


  • 3.Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon


  • 4.Salt - 3/4 teaspoon


  • 5.Water - 1/4 cup


  • 1.Kashmiri chilli powder - 3/4 teaspoon (Masalas needed for the recipe)


  • 2.Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon


  • 3.Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon


  • 4.Garam masala - 3/4 teaspoon


  • 5.Chicken masala - 1 teaspoon


  • 6.coriander powder - 1 teaspoon


  • 7.Pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon


  • 8.Salt as needed - 1 teaspoon


  • 1.Shreded chicken pieces - 400 grams ( Ingredients for cooking )


  • 2.Coconut oil - 2 tablespoon


  • 3.Grated coconut - 1/2 cup


  • 4.Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon


  • 5.Fennel seeds - 1/4 teaspoon


  • 6.Chopped shallots - 1 cup


  • 7.Sliced green chillies - 2 to 3


  • 8.Chopped garlic - 1 1/2 tablespoon


  • 9.curry leaves - 1 spring


  • 10.Ghee - 1 teaspoon

Directions

  • Clean the chicken and marinate it with 2 to 4 ingredients and kept aside for 10 minutes.
  • Take acooker and add the marinated chicken pieces along with 1/4 cup of water and cook it for 1 whistle than off the flame.
  • Open the cooker whe the vapor goes out completely and shred the chicken pieces when its cools down.
  • Preparation :
  • Heat a pan,add 2 tablespoon of coconut oil when its became hot make the flame into low and add the mustard seeds to splutter.
  • After we can add the fennel seeds along with the chopped garlic and sliced green chillies and stir it for 1-2 minutes.
  • Then we can add the chopped shallot along with some curry leaves and saute it for 2 minutes.Ass 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon of salt
  • and saute it till the onion became soft.Now we can add the masala in low flame and saute it till the raw smell goes out.
  • After we can add the grated coconut and mix well for a minute than we can add the shreded chicken along with 1/4 cup of
  • hot water and mix well.Make the flame into low and cover it with a lid and cook it for 5-10 minutes in alow flame.After
  • we can open it and give a mix.Add salt as needed along with 1 teaspoon of ghee /coconut oil and some curry leaves than give
  • a mix and off the flame.Our tasty chicken thoran is ready to serve.
