Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup Basmati rice


  • 2 cups Spinach leaves


  • 1 medium onion chopped


  • 1 teaspoon salt or as per taste


  • 1 teaspoon garam/ biryani masala


  • 1 teaspoon ghee


  • 2 green chillies slit


  • 1/4 cup peas optional


  • 4-5 garlic cloves minced


  • 2 cups water


  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions

  • Soak biryani rice for 30 minutes. Drain excess water. Heat ghee in a pan. Add garlic and saute until aromatic
  • Add onions and green chillies. Saute until translucent
  • Add peas and saute for a minute
  • Add spinach and saute until leaves wilt
  • Add pepper and biryani masala. Mix well. Saute for a minute
  • Add rice to pan and mix well
  • Now add water and salt in pan. Bring to boil
  • Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes over low heat until rice is done
  • Open, gently fluff rice. Serve hot with raita
