Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayaga chathurti is celebrated as the Birthday of Lord Ganesha. On the day, we make special traditional dishes like Vella kozhukattai (modakam) using coconut and jaggery filling, uppu kozhukattai with lentil filling and ammini kozhukattai. Celebrate Ganesh Chaturti by preparing this special kozhukatta with dry fruits.

Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • Rice flour - 1 cup


  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon or to taste


  • Water - 1 1/4 cup


  • Ghee - 1 teaspoon


  • Grated coconut - 1 cup


  • Jaggery - 1/2 cup


  • Dry fruits powder - 4 teaspoon


  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Directions

  • Add salt and ghee water and boil it
  • Add boiling water to flour and knead well to form a smooth dough
  • Cook coconut,jaggery, cardamom powder, dry fruits powder together until it became thick
  • Make medium size balls from dough
  • Flatten it and place some filling and fold it to make shape
  • Cook it in steamer for 20 minutes
