Description

Chocolate makes everything better !! So some chocolicious goodies for the sugar rush time.. "CHOCOLATE MERINGUES".. Crispy, melt in the mouth sweeties made with egg whites, cocoa and sugar, baked till done.

Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 3 nos egg whites


  • 1 cups superfine/caster sugar


  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder


  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract


  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions

  • Whisk the egg whites and sugar together in a metallic container.
  • Place the metallic container on a double boiler (it is basically placing the metallic container on a saucepan with hot simmering water).
  • Stir the egg mix till the sugar is dissolved.
  • Remove it from heat , add the vanilla and whisk it till soft peaks are formed.
  • Add salt and whisk again to form hard peaks. The whole procedure takes about 6-7 minutes.
  • Fold in the cocoa powder into the meringue mix.
  • Pipe the mix on a tray with butter paper on it, bake at 100℃ , in a preheated oven for 1 hour. 7. Cool it completely, preferably overnight and serve.
