How to make Bitter Gourd (Karelay ki Sabzi)

Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Bitter Gourd (1/2 Kg)

  • Onion (1 Cup)

  • Tomato (1 Cup)

  • Garlic Paste (1 TS)

  • Ginger Paste (1/2 TS)

  • Green Chilli (1 or 2)

  • Cooking Oil (1/2 Cup)

  • Salt (1/2 TS / As per taste)

  • Black Pepper (1/2 ts)

  • Red Chilli (1/2 ts)

  • Cloves (3/4)

  • Black Peppercorns (3/4)

  • Cinnamon (1 Stick into pieces)

Directions

    Cut Bitter Gourd without peeling.

  • 02

    Chop Onion, Tomatoes, Green Chillis.

  • 03

    Fry chopped Bitter Gourd in Cooking Oil till its color turns to Light Golden Brown.

    Use similar Cooking Oil to fry Onion till its color turns to golden brown.

  • 05

    Add chopped Tomatoes in Onion and make paste.

  • 06

    Add Garlic and Ginger Paste along with spices in paste.

  • 07

    Add salt and Black Pepper as per taste.

  • 08

    Add chopped Green Chillis as per taste.

  • 09

    After making perfect paste add Bitter Gourd and fry it till you can see oil on top.

    Add Cloves, Cinnamon and Black Peppercorns during frying Bitter Gourd.

  • 11

    Serve with Naan or Roti.
