Palak Paneer Dumplings In Chana Dal

Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cups bangal gram (chana dal)


  • 8-9 nos spinach leaves


  • 1/2 cups grated cottage cheese


  • 2 nos finally chopped onion


  • 5-6 nos garlic cloves


  • 1 inch ginger


  • 1 cups tomato puree


  • 1 tsp cumin seeds


  • 2 tsp salt according to taste


  • 1 tsp red chilly powder


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 tsp corriander powder


  • 1 tsp garam masala powder


  • 3 tbsp oil or as required for tadka and shallow frying


  • 2 nos finally chopped green chilly

Directions

  • Wash and soak chana dal for 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
  • Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  • Add half onions in it and saute until transparent.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and soute for a while.
  • Add tomato puree and soute until oil separates.
  • Add chana dal ,salt and dry spices in it. Mix well.
  • Add three cups water in it. mix well. close the lid.
  • Cook it for four whistles. Switch off the flame and let the pressure released.
  • Take grated cheese. Add salt and pepper, finally chopped onion and green chilly in it. Mix well.
  • Wash spinach leaves and place cheese stuffing on it.
  • Fold it carefully and seal it with toothpicks.
  • Boil water in a pan.
  • Place these spinach rolls on a strainer and put it on the pan.
  • Steam it for two minutes.
  • Now heat two tablespoons oil in a pan.
  • Shallow fry these dumplings in it until they become crispy.
  • Put chana dal in a serving bowl.
  • Place these spinach rolls on it.
  • Serve hot with naan or chapati.
