Roast the pigeon or toor dal and moog dal till they get brown color
Add dry red chillies and roast it
After roasting keep them aside or put them in a mixer jar.
Now take another pan and roast half cumin seeds and after half min add peper corns and coriander seeds .
Roast them by adding hing
When all the ingredients of spice powder are roasted then put them into the mixer jar to grind into fine powder
Now take a thick heavy bottom pan or kadai by adding coconut oil.
Heat it and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds,red chillies,ginger,garlic,curry leaves,haldi powder and 2 tsp spice mix powder which we have made by grinding.
Mix everything well add tomato slices and water to it.
Cook it so that tomatoes are cooked.
Now add tamarind pulp or extract to it.
mix it well and cover it with the lid.
After 10 min stir it and switch off the flame.
Now rasam is ready to serve
Serve it with rice or you can have it as soup.
