Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • 3/4 Cup whole wheat flour


  • 1 cup oats


  • 2 tablespoon cocoa powder


  • 1/4 Cup chocolate chips


  • 18 to 20 dates deseeded and chopped


  • 2 tablespoon Pumpkin seeds


  • 1 tablespoon dry roasted oats


  • 1/4 Cup powdered sugar


  • 1 teaspoon baking powder


  • 1 teaspoon baking soda


  • 1-1/2 cup milk


  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence


  • 1/2 cup refined oil

Directions

  • boil the milk and soak dates in it for at least 30 minutes
  • In a bowl sift together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and mix nicely
  • Add the milk and dates mixture and mix gently with spatula
  • now add oil, vanilla essence and chocolate chips and gently mix. Don't over beat the cake
  • preheat the oven and grease the loft tin with butter
  • pour the batter into the prepared loaf tin and Sprinkle roasted oats and Pumpkin seeds on top and bake it at 180 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean
  • take out from the oven and allow the cake to cool completely before taking it out from the oven otherwise it will break, if you cut it.
