Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 2 cups Red Kidney Beans (Rajma)


  • 1 cup tomatoes, chopped


  • 1 onion, finely chopped


  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste


  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste


  • 2 tablespoon oil/ghee


  • 1 tablespoon cumin


  • 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida


  • 2 teaspoon red chilli powder (Kashmiri)


  • 1 teaspoon garam masala


  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder


  • 1 teaspoon dry mango powder


  • 2 teaspoon salt


  • 1 tablespoon cream, optional

Directions

  • Soak red kidney beans for 4 hours
  • Now add a little salt and 3 cups of water to Red Kidney Beans and pressure cook it for 4-5 whistles
  • Meanwhile, heat ghee or oil in a pan add cumin, asafoetida, ginger-garlic paste and onions.
  • Saute it till onions get golden brown in colour.
  • Now add tomatoes and all the dry spice powders and again cook it till oil starts coming out from the masala.
  • Time to add cooked Kidney beans
  • Add salt if required and cook it for 10 minutes until everything combines well.
  • Add a little cream if required, just to enhance the taste.
  • Serve it with hot steamy rice with loads of ghee over it and just dig in !
  • This is perfect for lunch have a glass of buttermilk or lemonade along with it.
