Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 3/4 Cup whole milk


  • 300 grams sugar


  • 3 tablespoon cocoa powder


  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee powder


  • 1/2 pinch salt


  • 3/4 cup heavy cream


  • 2 egg yolks


  • 2 tablespoon Chocolate sauce


  • 5 strawberries


  • 2 tablespoon chocolate chips

Directions

  • Heat the milk ,sugar and cream in a sauce pan until it is quite warm and steamy but not boiling.
  • Once it is warm remove from heat and let it cool at room temperature.
  • Beat egg yolk separately. Again reheat the milk mixture and remove from heat.
  • Whisk in egg yolk little by little constantly whipping, making sure the eggs are not cooked. Scrape the warmed egg yolks back into sauce pan.
  • Stir constantly over the heat till it comes to custard consistency .This can take 10 minutes.
  • Add cocoa powder, instant coffee powder and vanilla essence to the mixture and mix still it's completely dissolved. Pour the mixture through the strainer and stir well. Let it cool.
  • Pour the mixture into the desired silicone mould or into any plastic container .Chill the mixture thoroughly in the refrigerator .Within few hours you can whisk the Gelato mixture in a electric beater (it's optional).
  • Freezing overnight sets perfectly .Drizzle chocolate sauce on top and Garnish with strawberries.and chocolate chips. Chocolate coffee Gelato make anyone happy and refreshing.
