Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Soaked mixed dal 250 gms

  • big onion chopped 1 nos

  • Garlic cloves chopped finely 15-20 nos

  • ginger finely chopped 1/2 inch

  • Chopped coriander leaves 1/2 cups

  • tomato chopped 1 nos

  • green chilli chopped 4-5 nos

  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp

  • turmeric powder 1 tsp

  • Salt to taste 1 tsp

  • Rajma masala 1 tsp

  • Zeera powder 1 tsp

  • Dhania powder 1 tsp

  • Curry masala 1 tsp

  • Fresh cream or Malai 1/2 cups

  • Butter 20 gms

Directions

    Wash and soak 5 different dal ie rajma,chana dal,black urad dal,whole mung dal and masoor dal together in same same quantity for at least 5-6 hours

    heat oil in a pressure cooker and add onion..sauté till pink colour

  • 03

    add chopped ginger ,garlic and green chilli and sauté for a minute

  • 04

    add chopped tomato and mix well

  • 05

    add salt and all the masala powder and mix well

  • 06

    add the dals and mix well...

  • 07

    add water and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles

  • 08

    now the dal is cooked well..mash a lil to get the desired texture

    add fresh cream or Malai 1/2 cup and cook the dal again

    add a blob of butter

  • 11

    add chopped coriander leaves and mix everything well...

  • 12

    serve with naan or roti
