Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 250 gms soaked mixed dal


  • 1 nos big onion chopped


  • 15-20 nos garlic cloves chopped finely


  • 1/2 inch ginger finely chopped


  • 1/2 cups chopped coriander leaves


  • 1 nos tomato chopped


  • 4-5 nos green chilli chopped


  • 1 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 tsp salt to taste


  • 1 tsp rajma masala


  • 1 tsp zeera powder


  • 1 tsp dhania powder


  • 1 tsp curry masala


  • 1/2 cups fresh cream or malai


  • 20 gms butter

Directions

  • Wash and soak 5 different dal ie rajma,chana dal,black urad dal,whole mung dal and masoor dal together in same same quantity for at least 5-6 hours
  • heat oil in a pressure cooker and add onion..sauté till pink colour
  • add chopped ginger ,garlic and green chilli and sauté for a minute
  • add chopped tomato and mix well
  • add salt and all the masala powder and mix well
  • add the dals and mix well...
  • add water and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles
  • now the dal is cooked well..mash a lil to get the desired texture
  • add fresh cream or Malai 1/2 cup and cook the dal again
  • add a blob of butter
  • add chopped coriander leaves and mix everything well...
  • serve with naan or roti
