Ingredients

Serves : 10
  • 1 cup Fenugreek Leaves


  • 1 cup grated Bottle Gourd


  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste


  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder


  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder


  • 1 teaspoon mango powder


  • 1 or 2 teaspoon sugar


  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder


  • 2 tablespoon sesame seeds


  • 1 Pinch of asafoetida


  • 2 teaspoon salt


  • 1 1/2 cup wheat flour


  • 1/4 cup Jowar flour


  • 1/4 cup oil


  • 2 tablespoon yoghurt

Directions

  • Wash Fenugreek leaves and roughly chop it.
  • Wash, peel and grate bottle gourd.
  • Mix Fenugreek, bottle gourd, all the dry spice powders, sesame, salt, sugar and yoghurt in a bowl. And keep it aside for 10 minutes
  • Now add flours to it and mix it well. Knead it like a dough. You won't need extra water. (If required add very little to it) knead it into a dough.
  • Now make 10 small equal balls out of this dough.
  • Roll each like chapati or like paratha
  • Heat a tawa or pan and place this thepla over it.
  • Grill it from both sides by applying little oil over it.
  • Make sure flame is low.
  • Make theplas and store it for 10-15 days.
  • Best for tiffin or lunch serve it with fresh curd, pickle, kadhi or even with some vegetable.
