Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup basmati rice


  • 1 bay leaf


  • 1 stick cinnamon


  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste


  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder


  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder


  • 1/2 cup peas


  • 250 gram cauliflower


  • 1 tsp grated coconut


  • 4-5 green chilly paste


  • 1 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 tsp red chilly powder


  • 1/2 tsp garam masala


  • 1 tsp mustard seeds


  • 1 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1 tsp salt to taste


  • 1/2 cup oil


  • 1 large onion


  • 1 potato cut into wedges

Directions

  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry potato. When it is half cooked remove and keep it aside.
  • In same oil add bay leaf, cinnamon stick, mustard seeds , cumin seeds and let it crackle.
  • Slice onion and add it into the pan along with ginger garlic paste. Let the oil separate and onion shrink in size.
  • Cut the cauliflower florets in medium size , wash it and transfer into the pan.
  • Add green chilly paste , turmeric powder, red chilly powder,grated coconut, coriander powder , cumin powder and salt to taste. Mix it properly.
  • Now add peas and cover it for 5 minutes.
  • Wash rice and add it in the pan. Add potatoes and 2 cup water. when it starts boiling reduce the flame , cover it and let it cook.
  • When rice is cooked add garam masala powder and transfer on a serving bowl.
  • Garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves. Serves hot.
