Ingredients
Serves 4
1 cup grated paneer
1/2 cup chana dal
1/8 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp cornflour
2 tsp oil
1/2 tsp salt
1 chopped green chilli
1 small piece ginger
1 bowl gravy ingredients....
1 tbsp oil
1 bay leaf
1 stick cinnamon
1 small cardamom
2-3 cloves
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp red chilli powder
3 medium sized chopped onions and tomatoes
1 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder and Garam Masala
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup water
Directions
Soak chana dal overnight and drain off excess water and blend chana dal with green chilli and ginger to a fine paste. Mix nicely and make 6 rounds like egg yolks.
Take a big bowl add paneer, cornflour, salt. Mix it and knead like a dough till Paneer becomes smooth.
Divide into 6 parts. Roll each ball into disc shape.Put small yolk portion in centre and cover from all sides and roll it between palms to give egg shape.
Shallow fry the eggs in very little oil. till they r golden brown on all sides.
Cool them into room temperature and cut into 2 halves.
For making gravy
Take a pan. Heat oil and add all bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom and cumin seeds and Stir well.
Stir and add onions paste. Add salt and cook for 10 minutes until onions r sautéed well.
When onions turn brown add garlic ginger paste and cook it well. Now add tomato purée and mix well.
When oil start separating add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dhaniya masala and Garam Masala. Mix all spices well.
Add little water and cook gravy and masala till it looses oil again.
Cook it for 5-8 minutes and then add paneer eggs and serve hot with rice or puris...
