Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • 1 cup brown chickpeas (kale chane)


  • 1/3 cup whole wheat flour


  • 3-4 cloves garlic


  • 1 inch ginger


  • 3 green chilies


  • 2-3 black peppercorns


  • 2 cloves


  • 1 inch cinnamon


  • Bread slices 2


  • Salt to taste


  • Oil for deep frying


  • Semolina 2 tablespoons

Directions

  • Soak the chickpeas overnight in good amount of water.
  • Mix the soaked chickpeas, ginger, garlic, green chillies, cloves, cinnamon , salt and peppercorns. Add 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 6-7 whistles.
  • Make sure that water should dry up completely.
  • When the chane cools down then grind it in a mixer. Soak the bread slices and press with both the hands to retain water. Grind it with chickpeas in a mixer.
  • Now combine all the ingredients by adding whole wheat in it.
  • Make the small properly shaped kebabs of the mixture. Spread semolina in a plate and roll shaped kebabs on it so that kebabs can evenly coated with it.
  • Heat sufficient oil in a pan and shallow fry all kebabs in it till golden and crisp.
  • Serve them hot with coriander or mint chutney. You can roast the kababs in the oven as well.
  • These snacks are so delicious, nutritious , high in protein and power packed.
