Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Colocassia leaves or Arbi leaves 5-6

  • Besan 2 cups

  • Tamarind paste 1 tablespoon

  • Carrom seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Salt 1 teaspoon

  • Sesame seeds 2 teaspoons

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon

Directions

    Wash arbi leaves and remove its stem

  • 02

    Using a rolling pin , flatten arbi leaves veins

  • 03

    Assemble all the required ingredients

    In a mixing bowl take besan, tamarind paste, all spices , amd salt to taste

    Mix well and prepare a thick paste

  • 06

    Now apply this paste on arbi leaf and keep another leaf on it

    Like wise repeat the process and Laslty prepare a bundle of it and seal the open ends

    Steam them in microwave or in regular steamer just like idli or dhokla ... For 10-15 minutes

    Let them cool for sometime amd then cut in rings

    Later, heat oil , add mustard seeds and sesame seeds

    Shallow fry all cut rolls till properly coated and crisp from all sided

    Garnish as you like amd serve hot or cold ... It tastes equally tasty .

    It's a traditional Maharashtrian Speciality which is frequently prepared in monsoon season when the Colocassia leaves are readily available
