Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)


  • 1/4 tsp baking powder


  • 1 tbsp fresh curds (dahi)


  • 2 tbsp melted ghee


  • Salt 1/2 teaspoon


  • For Stuffing:- 100 gms grated or small cubed paneer


  • 2 tsp finely chopped green chillies


  • 2 onion finely chopped


  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves(dhania)


  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder (optional)


  • Salt 1/2 to 1 teaspn


  • oil for rolling and deep-frying (1.5cups approx )

Directions

  • For the dough Mix the flour ,curd, salt baking soda , knead a stiff dough using enough water. Divide the dough into 24 equal portions (for 12 pooris) and keep aside.
  • For Stuffing Heat a small pan with 2 teaspoon of oil in it. Add kasoori methi then onions and salt soute till onions get transparent. Now add remaning stuffing ingredients
  • Divide the stuffing into 12 equal portions and keep aside. Roll out two portion of the dough into a thin round circles (poori) with the help of a little oil. Put one portion of the stuffing in the centre and cover the stuffing with another poori completely. Press the edges or cut it with a steel bowl with sharp edges.
  • Repeat with the remaining portions and stuffing to make 11 more stuffed puris.
  • Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry the puris, a few at a time, till they turn golden brown in colour from both sides. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve immediately.
