Serves : 4
  • Plain flour: 1 cup

  • Onions: 1 chopped

  • Cabbage: 1 cup chopped

  • Carrots: 1/ 2 cup chopped

  • Capsicum: 1/2 cup chopped

  • Salt: 1 tsp

  • Black pepper powder: 1 tsp

  • Soya sauce: 1 tbsp

  • Spring onion leaves: 2 tbsp chopped

  • Oil: 1 cup for frying

  • Cabbage leaves: 3 to 4


  • Prepare semi soft dough by mixing together plain flour,salt and warm water. Keep it covered for some time.
  • Meanwhile prepare the filling. Heat 2 tbsp oil, add chopped garlic and toss.
  • Add onions, and saute on medium to high flame.
  • Add capsicum, carrots and toss till soft and crisp.
  • Add salt and black pepper powder and mix.
  • Add soya sauce and mix well.
  • Finally add chopped spring onion leaves and mix.
  • Seitch off the flame and let it cool.
  • Make small sized balls of the prepared dough.
  • Flatten it out into small diameter circles.
  • Place 1 tbsp filling in centre and close it with pleats.
  • Repeat the same and keep aside.
  • Heat a wide pan or steamer with 3 cups of water.
  • Place cabbage leaves on a tin or steamer and place the momos in it and cover and steam for 12 mins.
  • Remove from steamer and let it cool.
  • Heat oil for deep frying,drop in the steamed momos into the oil and fry.
  • Serve hot with spicy chutney.
