Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Plain flour: 1 cup

  • Onions: 1 chopped

  • Cabbage: 1 cup chopped

  • Carrots: 1/ 2 cup chopped

  • Capsicum: 1/2 cup chopped

  • Salt: 1 tsp

  • Black pepper powder: 1 tsp

  • Soya sauce: 1 tbsp

  • Spring onion leaves: 2 tbsp chopped

  • Oil: 1 cup for frying

  • Cabbage leaves: 3 to 4

Directions

    Prepare semi soft dough by mixing together plain flour,salt and warm water. Keep it covered for some time.

    Meanwhile prepare the filling. Heat 2 tbsp oil, add chopped garlic and toss.

    Add onions, and saute on medium to high flame.

    Add capsicum, carrots and toss till soft and crisp.

    Add salt and black pepper powder and mix.

    Add soya sauce and mix well.

    Finally add chopped spring onion leaves and mix.

    Seitch off the flame and let it cool.

    Make small sized balls of the prepared dough.

    Flatten it out into small diameter circles.

    Place 1 tbsp filling in centre and close it with pleats.

    Repeat the same and keep aside.

    Heat a wide pan or steamer with 3 cups of water.

    Place cabbage leaves on a tin or steamer and place the momos in it and cover and steam for 12 mins.

    Remove from steamer and let it cool.

    Heat oil for deep frying,drop in the steamed momos into the oil and fry.

    Serve hot with spicy chutney.
