Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • Urad dal (lentil) 1 cup


  • Washed and Chopped spinach leaves 1 cup


  • moong dal (lentil) 1/2 cup


  • Ginger 1 inch


  • Garlic cloves 5


  • Salt and chilly according to taste


  • Asafaetida 1 pinch


  • Water according to requirement


  • Garam masala 1 teaspoon


  • Roasted cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon


  • Oil for frying

Directions

  • First of all wash both lentils nicely and dip in water for 4 hours.
  • After 4 hours drain all water and add both lentils in a mixer jar.
  • Now add ginger and garlic cloves also in jar and grind lentils in a smooth yet thick batter Don't add water.
  • Now add chopped spinach and rest of the ingredients in this smooth batter and mix nicely.
  • Now heat oil in a deep pan.
  • Take a small amount of batter in a ball shape and drop it very gently into oil from the edges of the pan. And deep fry on low to medium flame.
  • Keep changing sides of the fritters. Fry fritters till they become crispy and golden from all sides.
  • Now remove from flame and add another batch of fritters to fry. Ready all fritters in same way.
  • Serve healthy and yummy spinach and lentil fritters with any sauce or chutney of your choice.
  • These fritters are very crisp from outside but soft from inside. Do enjoy with hot tea or coffee.
