In a mixing bowl take chana dal flour, carrom seeds, salt to taste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder amd tamarind pulp
Mix well everything and prepare a thick paste using some water
Take a chapati , apply ready paste on it and place another chapati on it
Apply some more paste on it and place another chapati on it amd and again apply some more chana dal paste
Carefully roll it in to a bundle and apply paste all over to covere it
Apply some oil on microwave safe dish and place this bundle on it
Steam it for 10 minutes , just like idli or dhokla
You can use regular steamer also , if don't want to use microwave
After steaming , let the bundle cool for some time amd then cut in to rolls
Heat oil in a pan , add mustard seeds, let them Splutter
Add pinch of asafoetida and Sesame seeds , saute for a while and add cut rolls
Saute' from both sides, for some time on low heat
Chapati patras are ready to serve , serve hot immediately with tomato sauce or green chutney
This is my innovative recipe , here I have used left over chapatis , and given makeover to it. You can use fresh chapatis too .
