Try this quick and tasty rasam. RASAM is a south indian dish. Natural soup-like dish. Relieves COLD, cough, fever and improves digestion. Having rasam in a rainy day is a blissful experience!! I can simply drink this rasam!! Some rasam with hot rice and sleeping in mom's  lap - effective medicine for fever!!

Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Tomatoes - 3 (chopped)


  • Pepper - 2 teaspoon


  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon


  • Coriander seeds - 2 teaspoon


  • Green chillies - 4


  • Red chillies - 2


  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon


  • Methi seeds - 1 teaspoon


  • Hing - 1 pinch


  • Rasam powder - 3 teaspoon


  • Water - 4 cups


  • Curry leaves - 1 SPRIG


  • Coriander leaves- 1 handful


  • Ghee -1 teaspoon


  • OIL- 2 teaspoon


  • Salt - 2 teaspoon


  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon

Directions

  • Grind Tomatoes, greenchillies, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, pepper to a fine paste
  • Add 2 teaspoon oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, methi seeds, red chillies and hing powder
  • Add curry leaves
  • Add the tomato paste
  • Add salt and 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Let it boil nicely
  • Add water and then add rasam powder to it
  • When bubble appears, add ghee and switch off
  • Close immediately to retain the nice aroma of rasam
