Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • 1. For Outer Layer:


  • 1 cup maida + 1/4 cup(dusting)


  • 3 tsp oil


  • 1/2 tsp salt


  • 1/4 tsp ajwain


  • 1/4 cup water


  • 2.For stuffing:


  • 1 tbsp oil


  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1 green chillies,finely chopped


  • 1/4 cup fresh peas,boiled


  • 1/8 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder


  • 1/2 tsp chat masala powder


  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder


  • 2 medium size potatoes,boiled and mashed


  • salt as required(1/2 tsp appx)


  • 1/2 cup paneer,grated


  • Oil to deep fry(2 cups)


  • 3.For maida paste:


  • 1 tbsp maida


  • 1 tbsp water

Directions

  • In a bowl,add flour,salt,ajwain and oil.Mix well.Then add water little by little to form a chapathi dough consistency.Knead well.Cover it with a damp cloth and keep aside for 15 mins.
  • Heat oil in a pan,add mustard seeds.Let it splutter.Then add green chillies and green peas,saute for a minute.
  • Then add in all the spice powders,salt and saute until raw smell vanishes.Then add mashed potatoes and paneer,mix well.Switch off the stove and allow it to cool.
  • Add a tbsp of maida and make a paste by adding water.Keep aside.
  • Take a big lemon size ball from the dough and roll it like a chapathi using a rolling pin.It should be little thick compared to chapathi. If needed dust some maida while rolling.
  • Spread the masala on the rolled dough and roll from one side and seal the end with maida paste.It should be like spring roll shape.Cut the stuffed dough into bite sized pieces.Discard the first and last pieces.Follow the same procedure for remaining dough
  • Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the bite sized dough,until outer layer turns light brown colour and crispy.
  • Serve hot with ketchup or green chutney.
