Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 250 gms Turai ( Ridge Gourd)


  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs


  • 8 black peppercorns


  • 1 black cardamom


  • 2 cinnamon sticks


  • 3 whole red chillies


  • 2 inch ginger grated


  • 15 garlic pods


  • 1 tspn salt


  • 2 bay leaf


  • 1/2 tspn cumin seeds ( zeera)


  • 5 cloves


  • 1/2 cup oil


  • 2 finely chopped onion


  • 2 tbspn green coriander leaves


  • 2 finely chopped green chillies


  • 1/2 cup chana dal

Directions

  • Cut ridge gourd into small pieces
  • In a pressure cooker add chana dal, whole spices( black pepper corns , cloves, cardamon,cinnamon, whole red chillies, ginger, garlic , bay leaf ) with salt
  • Add little water to it and pressure cook it till chana dal is completely done
  • When done remove it and let it cool down. And grind it to fine paste
  • To it add bread crumbs , onion , chopped green chillies, coriander leaves.
  • Make shape of tikkis ( round) and shallow fry it
