Cooking Time

Preparation Time :20 Min

Cook Time : 25 Min

Total Time : 45 Min

Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • Tomatoes firm ones 3

  • Salt 1 tsp

  • Ginger garlic Green chilli paste 1 tsp

  • Turmeric 1/2 tsp

  • Red Chilli Powder 1 tbsp

  • Kasuri methi 1 tbsp

  • Gram flour 1 1/2 cups

  • Asafoetida 1/8 tsp

  • Baking soda 1/8 tsp

Directions

  • Make a semi thick batter with all the ingredients except tomatoes using water as required. Cover and set aside for 15-20 minutes.
  • Slice the firm tomatoes thinly. Remove the seeds if any carefully.
  • Dip the slices in the gram flour batter and deep dry few at a time.
  • Deep fry on a medium high heat and be careful while doing as it can splash due to the watery content in the tomatoes. That is why it is highly recommended to use firm tomatoes that are not juicy.
  • My innovative take on these lovely looking pakoras with kasuri methi. The first thing that comes to mind is the tangy taste that comes with them. Choose firm yet ripe ones for this recipe so that it becomes a bit more easier to handle them. Kasuri methi added to these give them a lovely aromatic twist. Try them on any given day to spread joy. Serve them piping hot at chai time with any chutney of your choice. Make these yummy pakoras for a change and see everyone welcome these with a huge smile. Happy Frying !
