Cook rice al dente and keep aside. However leftovers can also be used here and put to some constructive use therefore.
Heat butter or ghee in a pan and add all the whole masalas and the nuts. I have used ghee. Saute them for 2 mins.
Add the fruits and fry them for 2-3 minutes before adding the cream. Mix them well. Add the saffron soaked milk and let it simmer for 2 more minutes.
Transfer this to the pot of rice and give all a good mix. Garnish with fried onions and serve. It tastes delicious even without the fried onions.
