Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • Cooked rice 3 cups


  • Jaggery 3/4 cup


  • Cloves 4 to 5


  • Cardamom pods 4


  • Ghee 1 1/2 tbsp


  • Almonds slivered 2 tbsp


  • Water 4 tbsp


  • Cinnamon sticks 1


  • Caraway seeds 1 tsp


  • Nutmeg 1/8 tsp


  • Dry food colour powder 1/8 tsp (optional)

Directions

  • In a pan, add ghee and melt the jaggery with little water. Add the cloves , nutmeg and cardamom as it thickens.
  • Add almond slivers and the cooked rice now, mix well and leave it to cook for 2 to 3 mins. Add little food colour powder used in biryanis if desired dissloved in a tablespoon of milk just to give it a lovely look. Serve it hot or chilled as desired.
  • When you cook rice, add cinnamon and caraway seeds to the water. It gives a nice aroma and flavour to the rice.
  • Jaggery has multipurpose benefits. Be it in sweets or desserts or sweet rice or drinks, it has loads of benefits. It is dedinitely one of the most awesomest superfoods loved by many.
