Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Palak keerai 1 pack


  • Toor dhal 100gms


  • Chopped onion 1


  • Chopped tomatoes 2


  • Green chillies 2


  • Red chili 1


  • Oil 3 spoons


  • Salt 3/4 spoon


  • Jeera 1/2 spoon


  • Saunf powder 1/2 spoon


  • Turmeric powder 1/2 spoon

Directions

  • Clean, wash and cut the palak. Keep it aside.
  • Cook Toor dhal in the pressure cooker with 1 spoon oil and turmeric powder.
  • Place a kadai on the stove.
  • Add oil. When it is hot add mustard seeds.
  • When it splutters add jeera.
  • Add chopped onions.
  • When it becomes golden brown add tomatoes and salt.
  • Saute for 5 minutes.
  • Add saunf powder.
  • Add Palak and saute for 3 more minutes.
  • Add cooked dhal.
  • Mix well and keep it on the stove until palak is cooked well.
  • Transfer the dish to serving bowl.
  • Toor dhal contains protein and palak contains iron. So best for kids.
