Ingredients

  • Green Jackfruit- cut into blocks, 1 cup boiled


  • Basmati rice - 1 cup


  • Green peas - 1/4 cup


  • Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon


  • Tomato puree - 1/3 cup


  • Cinnamon stick - 1 inch


  • Asafoetida - 1/8 teaspoon


  • Salt - 1 teaspoon (as per taste)


  • Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon


  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon


  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon


  • Green chilli chopped - 1/2 teaspoon


  • Refined oil - 3 tablespoon


  • Ghee - 1 teaspoon

Directions

  • Heat oil and ghee in a pan and add cinnamon stick and a pinch of asafoetida into it.
  • Next add ginger paste and sauté it.
  • Add tomato puree and green chilli and cook until the raw smell of tomato is gone.
  • Next add turmeric and red chilli powder, salt and sugar to taste.
  • Now add the soaked rice and boiled green jackfruit pieces, green peas and stir well.
  • Then add required water (2 to 2.5 cups approximately) and cover with a lid for 15 to 20 minutes or unless the rice is cooked.
  • Serve it hot with raita or pickle.
