Ingredients

  • Green Jackfruit- cut into blocks, 1 cup boiled

  • Basmati rice - 1 cup

  • Green peas - 1/4 cup

  • Ginger paste - 1 teaspoon

  • Tomato puree - 1/3 cup

  • Cinnamon stick - 1 inch

  • Asafoetida - 1/8 teaspoon

  • Salt - 1 teaspoon (as per taste)

  • Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green chilli chopped - 1/2 teaspoon

  • Refined oil - 3 tablespoon

  • Ghee - 1 teaspoon

Directions

    Heat oil and ghee in a pan and add cinnamon stick and a pinch of asafoetida into it.

    Next add ginger paste and sauté it.

    Add tomato puree and green chilli and cook until the raw smell of tomato is gone.

    Next add turmeric and red chilli powder, salt and sugar to taste.

    Now add the soaked rice and boiled green jackfruit pieces, green peas and stir well.

    Then add required water (2 to 2.5 cups approximately) and cover with a lid for 15 to 20 minutes or unless the rice is cooked.

    Serve it hot with raita or pickle.
