Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup Dawat brown Basmati rice


  • 1/2 cup peas (Matar)


  • 1/2 cup chopped carrots


  • 1/2 chopped cabbage


  • 1 onion sliced


  • 1/4 cup chopped capsicum


  • 1/4 beetroot shredded


  • 4-5 cloves (laung)


  • 1 tez patta (Bay Leaf)


  • 1 big cardamom


  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped


  • 2 tbsp Oil

Directions

  • Soak brown rice for 1/2 an hour.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add Tej Patta, cardamom, laung, saute for a while. Add sliced onions. Saute it. Add peas, carrots, cabbage & capsicum. Saute all for 1 minute.
  • Add soaked rice. Saute again. Add salt & 2 cup water. Stir it. Cover the lid.
  • Cook it over medium flame until 3 whistles. Switch off gas. Let it cool.
  • Transfer into serving dish. Garnish with shredded beetroot & coriander Leaves. Serve hot with cucumber raita or plain curd.
