Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup Basmati rice


  • 1/4 cup Chana Dal


  • 1/4 cup Peanuts


  • 2 Onion chopped


  • 2-3 Dry red chilli whole


  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds


  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder


  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder


  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala


  • 2 Green chilies chopped


  • 4-5 tsp Oil


  • 1 tsp salt or as per your taste


  • 1-2 Lemon juice


  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida

Directions

  • Soak Chana Dal for 1 hour. Soak rice for 1/2 hour.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add mustard seeds. When it splutter add hing, Chana Dal. Roast it until golden brown. Add peanuts, curry leaves, red chilli pieces. Saute all for 1 minute.
  • Remove water from rice. Mix and saute all. For 1 minute. Add 1.5 cup water (rice 1 cup then water 1.5 cup). Add turmeric, red chilli powder, Garam Masala and salt. Mix well.
  • Cover its lid. Cook it over medium to high flame until one whistle.
  • Turn off gas. Let it cool. Open the lid. Add lemon juice in it. Mix well. Chana Dal & peanuts lemon rice is ready to serve.
