Ingredients

  • 3 cups basmati rice 3 medium size potatoes (cut into small pieces) 1&½ cup green peas 1 large carrot peeled, washed and sliced 1 finely sliced onion 5 green chillies chopped 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder 1/3 teaspoon turmeric powder Whole Spices:- 2 bayleaf 2 inch cinnamon stick 10nos black pepper corns 2 green cardamom 2 cloves Salt to taste 1/4 cup oil

    Heat oil in pressure cooker, add and crackle whole spices in heated oil. Add onion n saute for minute on high flame. Add ginger garlic paste in it n saute for 3minutes on low flame. Add green chillies, garam masala powder, turmeric powder n saute for minute on low flame. Add veggies (potatoes, green peas, carrot) cover the lid n cook it for 2minutes on low flame. Add rice and salt with required water. Cover the pressure cooker with lid and cook it on 3 whistles. Switch off the flame. Wait until air release from pressure cooker. Veg batata tehri is ready to serve. Serve this hot with curd, raita and papad Notes
