Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Rice flour- 1cup


  • Water- 1.5cup


  • Ghee- 1tbsp 1tsp


  • Salt- 1/2tsp sugar- 1tbsp


  • Scraped coconut - 2cups


  • Jaggery- 1cup


  • Cashew and raisins- 1/2cup


  • Cardamom powder- 1tsp

Directions

  • Heat water in a pan. Add ghee, salt and sugar to it and let it boil. Then add rice flour to it and mix properly. Try to avoid lumps
  • Then switch off the gas and cover abd ket it stand for 5 mins. Then remove from fire and alliw to cool down
  • In another pan heat 1tsp ghee, add scraped coconut to it and saute. Add jaggery, nuts and cardamom powder to it and saute up to dry and keep aside to cool down
  • Now knead the rice flour dough properly by greasing your hand in ghee.
  • Divide the dough into same size balls.
  • Grease your hand with ghee, take a ball and flat it in your palm. Then stuff the coconut stuffing and seal it by shaping like modak. Keep aside. Niw prepare all tye modaks.
  • Heat water in a idly cooker, place the modaks on the plate and steam for 10 mins
