Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • FOR BALLS ; Semolina/Rava - 2 Cup


  • Raw Water - 3 Cup


  • Salt - 1/2 tsp or as per taste


  • Red chilli flax - 1 Tablespoon


  • Haldi - 1/4 tea spoon


  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon


  • FOR TADKA : Urad dal without skin - 1 Teaspoon


  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon


  • Green chilli - 2 slit cut into small pieces


  • Curry leaves - 1 table spoon


  • Coriander leaves - 1 Tablespoon


  • Haldi - 1/8 tea spoon


  • Red chilli flax - 1 Teaspoon


  • Sambhar powder - 1/2 Teaspoon


  • Tamarind pulp - 2 table spoon


  • Oil - 2 Tablespoon

Directions

  • Take a pan, add 3 cups of water and heat it. Add salt, chilli flax and haldi to the water. Bring it to one boil.
  • Add 2 cups of suji /semolina. Mix the sooji with water and low the gas flame. Keep stirring and make like dough . Turn off gas .
  • Cover it for about 5 minutes.
  • Now add a teaspoon of oil to the mix. Knead well to make a smooth dough.
  • Now, take a lemon size ball of the dough. Roll it to smooth to make a ball.
  • Steam this balls in a steamer for 10 -12 minutes on a medium flame.
  • Once done, transfer to the plate.
  • Take a kadai, add oil and heat it. Add mustard seeds, urad dal. Saute it until it turns light brown.
  • Then add curry leaves and slit green chillies. Saute it. Now add haldi ,red chilli flax ,Tamarind pulp . Low the gas flame and mix well .
  • Now, add the steamed sooji balls. Saute it for a minute. Then switch off the gas.
  • Sprinkle some sambhar masala on it. Toss it.
  • Transfer to the serving plate. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves.
  • Semolina Balls' is ready to be served.
