Serves 2

  • Long grain rice 1 cup

  • vertically chopped ivy guard 2 cups

  • Finely chopped onion 1 tablespoon

  • Chrushed ginger and garlic 2 tablespoons

  • Green chilli chopped 2

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Garam Masala to 2 teaspoons

  • Cloves 6-8

  • Green Cardamom 4-6

  • Salt according to taste 1-2 teaspoons

  • Ghee 1-2 tablespoons

  • Jeera / cumim seeds 2 teaspoons

  • Grated tender/ fresh coconut 2 tablespoons

  • Chopped coriander 1-2 tablespoons for garnishing

    Tondali bhaat or Ivy guard biryani is a traditional Maharashtrian recipe which is prepared On special occasions or festivities. it is very yummy and delicious, equally it is very healthy too.

    When you are not in the mood of preparing food this one pot meal will definitely gonna help and goes well with some curd or raita.

    First of all wash long grain rice and soak in water

    Heat ghee in a pan and add jeera , let it splutter

  • 05

    Add finely chopped onion and saute' for sometime

  • 06

    Now add chopped green chilli crushed ginger and garlic and green cardamom

    Now remove excess water from soaked rice

  • 08

    Add rice to the pnn and saute' for some time

    Add chopped evy guard ,green peas, Garam Masala and salt according to taste... mix it well

    Add 2-3 cups of water, mix well and cook covered for sometime or till it is done

    Check in between and mix

  • 12

    If you are using pressure cooker then give two to three whistles

    When rice is done.. add grated fresh coconut and coriander mix well and it is ready to serve

    Add some more before serving and enjoy endlessly
