Ingredients

Serves : 6
  • 1 cup rice


  • 1/2 cup moong dal


  • 1/2 cup masoor dal


  • 3_4 bay leaves


  • 2 onion


  • 4 tomatoes


  • 2 potatoes


  • 1 tsp mustard seeds


  • 1 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1/2 cup curd


  • 1 tbsp gg paste


  • 2 tsp red chilli powder


  • 2 tsp dhania powder


  • 2 tsp garam masala


  • 1 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 tsp asofoetida


  • 1 tbsp salt as per your taste


  • 1 tbsp clarified butter


  • 2 tbsp oil


  • 1 bowl khichdi...ings for lolipops


  • 1 onion finely chopped


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1 tsp chat masala


  • 1 tsp amchur powder


  • 2 tbsp gram flour


  • 1/2 bread crumps


  • 2 tbsp coriander


  • 10_12 icecream sticks


  • 200 gms oil for frying

Directions

  • Process for khicdhi
  • Firstly wash and soak dal and rice for nearly about 20 mins.
  • Now chop onion potatoes and tomatoes keep aside.
  • Now in a cooker heat clarified butter and oil and add bay leaves and saute till they change colour.
  • Now add mustard seeds and cumin seeds roast till they start splittering.
  • Now add onion potatoes and gg paste and saute till onion is pinkish transparent .
  • Now add all the dry spices and stit it well. Cook till oil seperates.
  • Now add the tomatoes mix it well and cook till tomatoes are mashy.
  • Now add the soaked dal and rice stir it well add curd again stir it well leave it on medium flame and cook for 3_4 mins.
  • Now add about 3 glasses of water and cover the cooker snd give 5_6 whistles.
  • Garnish with coriander and toss some ghee or butter and serve hot with papad and raita.

  • Heat a kadhai and add khichdi and onion and saute it nicely till you get a dry mixture
  • Now add gram flour and all the dry spices stir it well.
  • Finally add the bread crumps and coriander and mix it well till it starts leaving sides and your mixture is in a dough form
  • Off the flame a d let it cool.
  • Now grease yr palm and make small balls from the mixture .
  • Take a icecream stick and take 1 mixture balls .
  • Insert the stick in a ball and flaten it with ur palm to give a shape of lollipop.
  • In this way make all the pops and keep them in fridge for 1/2 hour.
  • Now heat oul in a kadhai ans deep fry on medium flame .
  • After fryng cover the remaining part ot the stick with foil paper for a better presentation.
  • Serve hot with sauce or chutney.
