Ingredients

Serves 2

  • 1 tbsp Channa Dhal

  • 1 tbsp urad dhal(white)

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

  • 5 dry red chillies

  • 1 sprig curry leaves

  • 1/4 inch piece of ginger

  • 1/2 cup grated coconut

  • 1 cup grated radish

  • 1 Gooseberry size tamarind

  • Salt as required(1 1/2 tsp)

  • 2 tbsp water

Directions

    Dry roast the dhals in a mediumium flame, until it turns golden brown and keep aside.

    Heat oil in a pan,add in the red chillies,curry leaves,ginger and grated radish(until raw smell of radish vanishes) for 10 mins in a medium flame.

    Then add in the coconut,roasted dhals,salt and tamarind,mix well.Switch off the stove.

    Allow it to cool and grind to a fine paste by adding little water.

    Serve with white rice or variety rice.
