Ingredients

Serves 4

  • Grinded Bread – 3 cup

  • Chopped Onions – 1/4 cup

  • Chopped Tomatoes – 1/4 cup

  • Oil – 2 tablespoon

  • Mustard Seeds / Rai – 1/2 tsp

  • Cumin Seeds / Jeera – 1/4 tsp

  • Asafetida / Hing – 1/4 tsp

  • Chopped Green Chillies – 1 tsp

  • Few Curry Leaves – 5 to 6 nos

  • Split Black Gram / Urad Dal – 1 1/2 tsp

  • Peanuts / Groundnuts / Mungfali – 2 tsp

  • Sesame Seeds / Til – 1/4 tsp

  • Turmeric Powder / Haldi – 1/2 tsp

  • Red Chilli Powder / Lal mirchi – 1/2 tsp

  • Salt – 1/2 tsp

  • Sugar – 1 tsp

  • Lemon Juice – 1 tsp

  • Water – 2 tsp

  • Chopped Coriander Leaves – 2 tsp

  • Sev for garnishing – 4 to 5 tsp

  • Clarified Butter / Desi Ghee – 1 tsp

Directions

    In a heating pan add 2 tablespoon of Oil and allow to heat.

    Then add ½ tsp of Mustard seeds, ¼ tsp of Cumin Seeds, ¼ tsp of Hing, 1 tsp of chopped Green Chillies, few Curry Leaves, 1 ½ tsp of Urad Dal, 2 tsp of Peanuts and sauté for 1 Min.

    Then add ¼ tsp of Sesame Seeds (Til), ¼ cup of chopped Onions and cook for another 1 Min.

    Add ¼ cup of chopped Tomatoes and mix well.

    Then add ½ tsp of Turmeric Powder (Haldi), ½ tsp of Red Chilli Powder, ½ tsp of Salt, 1 tsp of Sugar and sauté the spices for half a minute.

    Furthermore, add 3 cup of mixer grinded Bread and mix well.

    Add 1 tsp of Lemon Juice, sprinkle 2 tsp of Water and mix well.

    Cover the lid and simmer on medium flame for 2Min.

    Lastly add 2 tsp of chopped Coriander Leaves and mix well.

    For serving, grease the serving bowl with Ghee, pour Upma into the bowl and unmold on serving plate.

    Garnishing with Sev and serve hot.
