Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • Grinded Bread – 3 cup


  • Chopped Onions – 1/4 cup


  • Chopped Tomatoes – 1/4 cup


  • Oil – 2 tablespoon


  • Mustard Seeds / Rai – 1/2 tsp


  • Cumin Seeds / Jeera – 1/4 tsp


  • Asafetida / Hing – 1/4 tsp


  • Chopped Green Chillies – 1 tsp


  • Few Curry Leaves – 5 to 6 nos


  • Split Black Gram / Urad Dal – 1 1/2 tsp


  • Peanuts / Groundnuts / Mungfali – 2 tsp


  • Sesame Seeds / Til – 1/4 tsp


  • Turmeric Powder / Haldi – 1/2 tsp


  • Red Chilli Powder / Lal mirchi – 1/2 tsp


  • Salt – 1/2 tsp


  • Sugar – 1 tsp


  • Lemon Juice – 1 tsp


  • Water – 2 tsp


  • Chopped Coriander Leaves – 2 tsp


  • Sev for garnishing – 4 to 5 tsp


  • Clarified Butter / Desi Ghee – 1 tsp

Directions

  • In a heating pan add 2 tablespoon of Oil and allow to heat.
  • Then add ½ tsp of Mustard seeds, ¼ tsp of Cumin Seeds, ¼ tsp of Hing, 1 tsp of chopped Green Chillies, few Curry Leaves, 1 ½ tsp of Urad Dal, 2 tsp of Peanuts and sauté for 1 Min.
  • Then add ¼ tsp of Sesame Seeds (Til), ¼ cup of chopped Onions and cook for another 1 Min.
  • Add ¼ cup of chopped Tomatoes and mix well.
  • Then add ½ tsp of Turmeric Powder (Haldi), ½ tsp of Red Chilli Powder, ½ tsp of Salt, 1 tsp of Sugar and sauté the spices for half a minute.
  • Furthermore, add 3 cup of mixer grinded Bread and mix well.
  • Add 1 tsp of Lemon Juice, sprinkle 2 tsp of Water and mix well.
  • Cover the lid and simmer on medium flame for 2Min.
  • Lastly add 2 tsp of chopped Coriander Leaves and mix well.
  • For serving, grease the serving bowl with Ghee, pour Upma into the bowl and unmold on serving plate.
  • Garnishing with Sev and serve hot.
