Dry roast semolina for 2 minutes
In a bowl, mix semolina, curd and baking soda. keep it aside for 15 minutes
Add rest of the ingredients and mix well. add little water only if mixture is too dry
Wet your palms , make lemon sized balls
Flatten between palms and make hole in centre
Drop vadas in hot oil. Deep fry over medium heat until golden brown
Allow excess oil to be absorbed by Kitchen towel
Serve hot with sambar or chutney
