Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup Semolina


  • 1/2 cup curd


  • 1 teaspoon peppercorns


  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger


  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda


  • 3-4 green chillies finely chopped


  • 1 onion finely chopped


  • 1 teaspoon salt or as per taste

Directions

  • Dry roast semolina for 2 minutes
  • In a bowl, mix semolina, curd and baking soda. keep it aside for 15 minutes
  • Add rest of the ingredients and mix well. add little water only if mixture is too dry
  • Wet your palms , make lemon sized balls
  • Flatten between palms and make hole in centre
  • Drop vadas in hot oil. Deep fry over medium heat until golden brown
  • Allow excess oil to be absorbed by Kitchen towel
  • Serve hot with sambar or chutney
