Ingredients

Serves 2

  • 2 tbsp oil

  • 3 drops of tamarind extract

  • Salt 2 taste

  • Marinate below for 10 mins

  • 250 gms chicken (small pieces)

  • Salt 4 taste

  • 1/4 tsp each coriander powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder

  • 2 pinch turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste

  • Grind below to paste : 2 small onions

  • 1/2 tomato

  • 2 tsp curd (optional)

  • 2 handful mint leaves

  • 1 handful grated coconut

  • 1 pinch each of chilly powder, pepper powder

  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

  • 5 pods garlic

  • Below for seasoning: 2 cardamom

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 5 curry leaves (optional)

Directions

    Marinate the chicken . Grind the paste and keep aside

  • 02

    Heat oil in a pan, add the cardamom, curry leaves and bay leaf

  • 03

    Fry the marinated chicken for 2 minutes

  • 04

    Add the ground paste and fry for a minute on high flame. Add 100 ml water

  • 05

    Bring to a boil. Add salt to taste and cover cooked for 8 to 10 mins on low flame

  • 06

    Once the chicken is cooked, add the tamarind extract and simmer for 3 minutes on low flame with lid for the excess water to be absorbed.

    Serve it hot with rice or idli's or appams or paratas or bread
