Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 250 grams self raising flour(superfine baking flour)


  • 3 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk


  • 3 tablespoon castor sugar


  • 2 tablespoon cold milk


  • 2 eggs


  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence


  • 2 glasses of water

Directions

  • Pour the water in a steamer,cover and bring it to boil
  • Meanwhile put all the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well
  • Add oil, milk, vanilla and condensed milk one after the other and fold in well
  • Add the eggs next and whisk hard/well until the sugar is well dissolved in the batter
  • Finally sieve in the flour slowly to create a gooey cake mixture
  • The mixture should be like a normal cake mix(not very runny, but not too thick either)
  • Pour in the batter upto half the capacity of your mould
  • place the cake moulds in the steamer and steam cook for 10-12 minutes on Low heat
  • check by inserting a knife or toothpick, to see if the steamed cakes are ready
  • Take off the steamer once done and let cool and then unmould
  • Enjoy with your kids warm if you like freshly steamed cakes or refrigerate them to have them chilled.
