Ingredients

Serves : 3
  • 2 cups wheat flour


  • 1 tablespoon rava / semolina


  • 1 tsp haldi/ turmeric powder


  • 1-2 tsp red chilli powder


  • 1 tsp ajwain / carom seeds


  • 1/2 tsp pepper powder


  • 1-2 tsp salt


  • 1 tbsp soft unsalted butter


  • 200 ml oil to fry

Directions

  • mix flour, salt, spices in a mixing bowl
  • rub butter well into the flour
  • add water, knead a stiff dough
  • divide into 2 parts
  • rollout a medium thick roti
  • mark rounds using a cutter
  • prick randomly using a fork
  • heat oil and deep fry
  • fry on medium flame until crisp
  • drain and cool
  • store in an airtight box
