Ingredients

Serves 3

  • 2 cups wheat flour

  • 1 tablespoon rava / semolina

  • 1 tsp haldi/ turmeric powder

  • 1-2 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1 tsp ajwain / carom seeds

  • 1/2 tsp pepper powder

  • 1-2 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp soft unsalted butter

  • 200 ml oil to fry

Directions

  • 01

    mix flour, salt, spices in a mixing bowl

  • 02

    rub butter well into the flour

  • 03

    add water, knead a stiff dough

  • 04

    divide into 2 parts

  • 05

    rollout a medium thick roti

  • 06

    mark rounds using a cutter

  • 07

    prick randomly using a fork

  • 08

    heat oil and deep fry

  • 09

    fry on medium flame until crisp

  • 10

    drain and cool

  • 11

    store in an airtight box
