Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour


  • 4 eggs


  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour


  • 2 cups milk


  • 1 tablespoon sugar


  • 1.5 teaspoon salt


  • 1 large tomato chopped finely


  • 1 large onion chopped finely


  • 3 green chillies finely chopped


  • 2-3 tablespoon oil+1 tablespoon for the batter


  • 1 tablespoon fennel seeds

Directions

  • For egg plain Gola Rooti:
  • Place half all the dry ingredients in a bowl except onions,tomato, fennel seeds and green chillies
  • Add the oil and start adding milk gradually to form a runny batter
  • Crack 2 egg in a bowl and whisk well until combined with the batter
  • Heat a tablespoon oil in a non stick pan and spread it using a brush/kitchen tissue over the pan
  • Pour in a laddle full of batter in the center and stead it to the size of a regular pancake and let cook on Low heat
  • Flip and cook both sides till brown spots appear.
  • Add a teaspoon of oil to the sides while cooking if needed
  • Once done, take of heat. Our plain Gola Rooti is ready
  • Serve warm with a drizzle of honey/maple syrup
  • For egg masala pancake:
  • Place the remaining half the ingredients in a bowl and add onions,tomatoes, fennel seeds and chillies
  • Proceed with the repeating the same steps to create the masala Gola rootis as the plain version
  • Serve masala Gola Rooti with ketchup or spicy chutney of your choice
  • Enjoy with your kiddies!!
