Serves 4

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

  • 4 eggs

  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour

  • 2 cups milk

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1.5 teaspoon salt

  • 1 large tomato chopped finely

  • 1 large onion chopped finely

  • 3 green chillies finely chopped

  • 2-3 tablespoon oil+1 tablespoon for the batter

  • 1 tablespoon fennel seeds

    For egg plain Gola Rooti:

    Place half all the dry ingredients in a bowl except onions,tomato, fennel seeds and green chillies

  • 03

    Add the oil and start adding milk gradually to form a runny batter

  • 04

    Crack 2 egg in a bowl and whisk well until combined with the batter

  • 05

    Heat a tablespoon oil in a non stick pan and spread it using a brush/kitchen tissue over the pan

    Pour in a laddle full of batter in the center and stead it to the size of a regular pancake and let cook on Low heat

    Flip and cook both sides till brown spots appear.

    Add a teaspoon of oil to the sides while cooking if needed

    Once done, take of heat. Our plain Gola Rooti is ready

    Serve warm with a drizzle of honey/maple syrup

    For egg masala pancake:

    Place the remaining half the ingredients in a bowl and add onions,tomatoes, fennel seeds and chillies

  • 13

    Proceed with the repeating the same steps to create the masala Gola rootis as the plain version

    Serve masala Gola Rooti with ketchup or spicy chutney of your choice
