Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • for cake batter: 200 grams all purpose flour


  • 1 teaspoon salt


  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda


  • 1.5 teaspoon baking powder


  • 125 grams unsweetened cocoa powder


  • 200 grams sugar


  • 150 grams sour cream


  • 1 tablespoon oil


  • 1.5 teaspoon vanilla essence


  • 1 cup milk


  • for chocolate frosting:100 grams unsalted butter


  • 100 grams fine sugar


  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence


  • 50 grams unsweetened cocoa powder


  • 100 grams Choco shaves/rice

Directions

  • Preparing the cake batter:
  • In a bowl combine all the dry ingredients listed under cake batter
  • mix well
  • In a separate bowl,add the sour creme,vanilla and oil first
  • mix well and serve the dry ingredients slowly into the wet ingredients bowl
  • fold into a smooth batter by adding milk
  • grease a cake tin and bake transfer the cake batter into it
  • bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees celcius for first 10 minutes and then at 180 degrees until done
  • let the cake cool off on a cooling rack while we prepare our frosting
  • in a mixing bowl, add butter,vanilla and sugar
  • serve the cocoa powder slowly
  • beat using an electric beater until soft peaks form
  • coat the cake on the surface and sides with the prepared frosting and drizzle with choco shaves
